This one didn’t really click with me; it’s history, sort of, but tries really hard to be stylish writing as well, to an extent that seems to get in the way of the story. The anchor point is the fate of Thomas Paine’s bones (which ends up being "we don’t really know what happened to them). Along the way the author writes about everything from revolutionaries to phrenologists, as those bones did touch upon the lives of a motley lot of characters.
