by Martin W. Sandler

A book of arctic exploration – despite the title, it covered the British search for the Northwest Passage generally, rather than only the loss and refinding of Franklin’s ship. Parts of the narrative are interesting, but the whole book has an unfinished feel, as though it were put together from separate essays and not very well edited for continuity. Give it a pass unless you’re deeply interested in the subject.
